Mine is a 11th or a third an octave up(when played at the same time), but for actual music, song writing etc. fifths and fourths or minor seconds do the trick for me.
 
Yeah, the tritone is not a nice sounding interval.  There is a reason people thought it was the work of the devil in the middle ages. 

I like the major 6th.  It's pretty. 
 
The romantic in me has always had a soft spot for the major 6th... Thirds, kind of dull. Major 7th is nice too. Tritones and flat 5ths are a lot of fun.
 
actually, I love playing rootless inversions and watch the lead player freak out when I play a sharp ninth or a 6thg/raised 4th
 
i don't understand anything that's going on in this thread, except the Monty Python vid.
 
My favorite interval is the one between my deadpan remark and the moment it dawns on the object of my scorn that they've been insulted.
