Duncan '59 label removal

I have a Duncan '59 that says "Seymour Duncan" on the plastic part (white text, black pickup).  Anyone know a good way to remove this?

Isn't that annoying? I have a set of Pearly Gates like that. Not only did I have to pay for them, I'm forced to pimp for the company.

The best way to remove the logo is to polish it off with an abrasive polish of some sort. Brasso is recommended by many, but I've never used it myself. I've used Scratch-X for a lot of little jobs like this and always had good luck. I'm sure any automotive polish would work.

Good idea, thanks Bob.

Personally I wouldn't mind if the Seymour Duncan logo was fluorescent pink.  We wouldn't yank the Marshall logo off an amp now would we?

Nail polish remover? Not sure how it'd react to the plastic of the bobbin itself but, that's the first thing that came to mind.

SD is considered a decent brand so I don't see any shame in leaving it either.  But if you want it gone, I agree with Bob.  Almost any abrasive polish will do the trick.

Naptha, with either a q-tip or a flannel piece of cloth.

What? Noone wants to put a metal Warmoth Logo on their pickup covers? :icon_scratch:

I'm just curious if anyone has done it.
I've seen the decal on headstocks, neckplates, even in the ashtray of Tele bridges, but not yet on any pickup covers.

You never know where you may see one.

That would be kind of cool... put a chrome Warmoth logo on a chrome humbucker cover, it would look kinda like those old PAFs that had Gibson embossed on them.

Also chrome on black chrome would look cool.

Edit: I had an idea of putting the "MADE IN USA" part of the chrome label on the fretboard right next to the nut, where the strings would protect it.  So I tried it... unfortunately some of the letters got fricked up so I scrapped it.  If I order another one of those I'll have to remove the strings first, then try it again

For those wondering why I am doing this - I ordered the VINTAGE WIRING one from Warmoth (which doesn't have the name on it).  Warmoth accidentally (I assume) sent me the 4-conductor model, which is actually more expensive, so that's cool, I just don't like labels on my stuff.  I leave my headstocks plain, etc.  FYI.
