Drum/Bass Machine Recommendation

I have been considering a drum/bass machine for quite some time.  Something to make my practice time a bit more exciting.  Hannaugh's thread about a practice schedule brought this back home.

I don't need anything real fancy because I am not doing any recording with this unit.  Just noodling around...

I had been looking at a Zoom RT-223 or a Boss DR-880.

Anybody have experiences, thoughts, or suggestions regarding these units or suggestions for other machines???  My only requirement is that it has foot switch control option.

Thanks for your time &  :rock-on:

Can't say what would be good drum machine. But I have a Boss BR532 4 track recorder I'm selling, and it has drums on it that are arrangeable and has the COSM guitar modeling. I just bought a BR1160 CD version, so I don't need the BR532 anymore... :dontknow:

Pick up a Fender G-DEC combo amp. It has a drum machine and bass loops built in, can be run via foot switch, plus includes more effects than any Line6 I've tried.

Plus you can set the loops or metronome to increase tempo gradually, change keys automatically, and even record clips of your playing so you can hear what you just did.

Played once with the B-DEC and a guy using a Tele through a G-DEC and we had a full band playing with us.

The front panel interface is a little wonky so I'd pick up the 4-button foot controller.

Hey KH G,

Thanks for the heads up on the Fender G-DEC.  Sounds like a cool set-up.  I don't need another amp for my guitar, but I like this because it is all contained in one unit and a pedal with four switchs for many options.  I just picked up a Fender G-DEC 30 on ebay.  Can't wait for it to arrive and start playing with it.
Thanks again & :rock-on:

I think you'll be pretty happy with it, the guitar versions sound much better than the bass. Pushing 30W to a 110 setup is not good for a low B string.

Did you get the foot controller included?  I got my B-DEC on eBay and had to get the controller on GC's website.

If you can find a nice used DR-5 they're really a good machine.  Does drums, plus three instruments all at once.  You can do say Drums, bass, piano or organ, and horns!~

Its midi controlled, acts like a midi controller and sequencer, records well.  Will also do analog to midi conversion of your guitar signal so you can play guitar and have it come out as a trombone or banjo or whatever.

If you find one YOU NEED the BOOK.... trust me.  I got one, and have the book.
