Dream 90 vs. Mean 90

Every time I think I know what I want to use for pups on my Bass VI, something comes up that delays my purchase, and I start thinking about other options...  I'm currently considering humbucker sized P90s neck and bridge, with a strat middle (already ordered the HSH pickguard prior to the current delay).

Anyone have any imput as to which might be better suited?  I've read the blurb on GFS, but that was written by the people selling them, and I'm hoping for less biased opinions.
 
I would ask Ken's (Mr. TroubledTreble himself) opinion.  He makes the things, and can give you the some of the best knowledge based suggestions on the pick ups.  He is a busy guy so you might have to be patient for his reply.

I have some GFS pickups, and the one in my Tele really shines.  I wouldn't think of it as a cheap, inexpensive pickup that sounds good.  I would think of it as a very good pickup that just so happens to be inexpensive.

If you're looking for the more "botique" vein, then definitely give Ken's pickups consideration, or also (www.carlesenguitar.com) as Mr. Carlsen custom handwound my "Bari-Twang" humbucker, which is an ANII mag, dual flat screw coiled humbucker wound to 6.9k and voiced similarly between a Filtertron and a vintage PAF.  In SC mode, it really does have a nice Tele sparkle.  I play it in SC mode more than humbucking actually!
 
I've used both Gibson P94's  good for clean ,  and Harmonic Designs Z90's 
. The Z90's are very hot and have huge pole pieces that would work well on a Bass VI
