Do french fries conduct electricity?

Having a precocious 4yo, and a resolve to try my level best to answer questions with as much patience as I can muster.  My boy asks me yesterday "Daddy, do french fries conduct electricity?" Mommy would've just said "shut up and eat your french fries*", but dad says "Hmm... probably, due to the salt, but know what, I have a multi-meter in the car. Let's find out."  McDonald's french fries have a resistance of approximately 380M ohms per half inch length. If he were older I'd have explained resistor power ratings to him visually. Heh heh. But that's not something I want my 4yo playing with so that lesson will have to wait.

(*Not exactly, she'd never say the 's-word' but she might as well, cause tone says everything.)

In my experience, Yukon Gold potatoes have the best tone.  I don't much like the vintage ones though.
