Forgive me for I have sinned...  :laughing7:

I just could not help myself, when I saw her gorgeous body I just KNEW I had to have her.

I acted on impulse dear lord!!!!

And I couldn't be happier!!  :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

You certainly don't see SGs like that everyday. Or ever. That's incredible.

I'm gonna be finishing it myself.., Probably gonna tape off all of the ash and dye the maple a kinda washed black and spray everything in a clear gloss....

Think It will look super cool still being able to see the ash on the front of the body, the contrast of that and the black is going to look AMAZING.

Haha! Good thing I posted it on the GAS thread right :icon_thumright:.

This is going to be great dude, you better post some pictures!

I'm not gonna say it. I'm not gonna say it...

I think I might have made a mistake by ordering black hardware though  :dontknow:

I saw that one on my RSS reader, clicked on it, and it was gone!  You didn't waste any time, did ya?  :)

I'm glad it's going to someone who will really appreciate it.

Wow I wish my mustache looked that killer. This one will be fun to watch come together .  :icon_thumright:

As soon as I saw exaN post it up on the GAS thread. which was about 11 CST last night. I headed right to the showcase and bought it.

Idk If I'm feeling the black hardware, but regardless it's getting black studs installed haha  :icon_scratch:

Had to go either black or gold hardware with that body, and gold would have been too much bling. Would have drawn away from the awsome figuring in the wood, which is really the main attraction there. Hardware is everywhere, but a wood face like that is as unique as a fingerprint.

Yea, this is true, cause gold was my other option..... But on the other hand I might just clear the whole thing..

Oh to hell with it, I'm just gonna paint it white.

I don't normally like SGs, but when I saw that body on the RSS I was really impressed.  Congratulations, thats a real one of a kind.

Wow, would look cool in gloss black solid finish (j/k) :laughing7: :icon_jokercolor:

Differebt to the usual SG type of body with that figuring. I'll be interested to see how this turns out.  :icon_thumright:

Do you guys think I should do the washed black/clear on the ash? Or clear over the whole thing?

If it was me, I don't think I'd let any of that ash show. I'd do a vintage amber tint over the face, burst that to black, then black over the back. Sorta like this, but not quite as extreme...

Coupled with the black hardware, that would be killer.

+1 for some sort of burst to cover the ash. I agree that in some circumstances the contrasting wood might be a cool look, but with a figured top like that, it runs the risk of looking badly made, or looking like a mistake.

I agree. With some bodies, the transition can look planned, and be used to enhance the look of the whole. But, with an SG, that large bevel around the edge makes it look like a bad rout job or something. The figured top doesn't extend far enough. So, the transitioning edge needs to be covered up.
