Custom bass build for a girl

Well I build my Black Korina bass a couple of months ago out of all Warmoth stock and put some pics on facebook. Well apparently one of my friends liked what I did and just asked me to build a bass for his sister. He told me she likes the color purple and Doctor Who so I came up with a custom body design and paint job to fit the need. I plan on ordering an Alder blank from Warmoth as soon as I get the OK to start from my friend.

Just curious where did you get the inspiration for the different parts of the body?
And what is the star at the bottom of the bass about?
It's an interesting body shape for sure, Just maybe a bit too Odd, But hey thats just my opinion.
Much as i hate to give the possibility of another purple z bass being on this planet  :laughing7:
But maybe a body shape like the Z or the Iceman might be interesting enough to go with the doctor who idea, but not too outlandish.

But hey what do i know, my next build will likely have a contrasting body and neck, and maybe a contrasting fretboard, haha .

haha yea I know it's quite out there. It's kind of a frankenstein guitar of sorts. The left horn is kind of a mix between Warwick and Steve Vai's guitar, the left horn is kind of in the Rickenbacker style, and the star at the bottom is actually my own adaptation of this luthier's stuff http://www.alembic.com/prod/littledarling.html.
I love the z bass style (that's what I used for my bass I just recently built), but I want to do a body that is completely custom and from the ground up.

Nice yeah, Well good luck with it then, Hope she loves it  :headbang1:

Pretty sure any warmoths i build will always be a Z now, so intune with the five string z body i just hope it doesnt change with my second being a 4 string.

Oh I love my 4 string Z bass. She sings beautifully. I can get great 3rd string harmonics on her.
