Converting 6 hole hole Trem to 2 point trem

Hi,

I have a warmoth build musiclander that has a  standard 6 six vintage fender trem route and I would like to convert it to a fender 2 point trem.  Has anyone here ever done this?  I've tried to search here for advice but haven't come across anything.

Because the outside screw spacing is different, we usually glue in dowel rods to fill the outside holes and re-drill for the new studs/inserts. Sometimes we have to drill the holes out a little more to get the right fit, sometimes we don't have to fill at all (but that usually requires some real skill with a countersink). You can also plug the other 4 holes but that's little more than cosmetic.

While not a hard job, it's not something for a novice woodworker without practicing first, and it really requires a drill press to keep everything accurate.

This is helpful.  Thank you.  I figured I would be dowelling some holes.  and I have access to a drill press so that's good too
