Anyone ever use the Color Tone aerosol's from StewMac....?

I bought some awhile back but never used it...Hell it may not be any good anymore. Not sure how long aerosols will keep...... :dontknow:

Clear gloss over dye, clear gloss over oil stain, and two-tone burst on alder. Give me another week and I'll be a Warmoth branch office down here.

Have you used nitro over oil stain before?
Check with the finishing gurus, but I believe that the solvents in nitro will lift the oil stain.

Nope not at all; have nitro'ed a number over Minwax oil based stains and Woodburst dyes, which contains Tung Oil and are more like a stain than a dye. You need to ensure that the stain is COMPLETELY dry to avoid any issues and this can take at least 24 hours or longer even in dry warm ideal conditions.

I used varathane stain then two coats of Danish oil, then 12 or so coats of deft nitro lacquer and nothing ran, bled or lifted off, when finished with the clear I wet sanded with 1000 grit automotive sandpaper and then gave it one coat of shellewax ultra shine, which has an abrasive compound in it and man this guitar looks and feels awesome!! just the perfect gloss and feel I was looking for. I would have pics of completed guitar to post, but I ordered the wrong trem  :tard: Oh well new one on it's way. Anybody need a gold mexican strat trem?

Paul.
