Cherry Burst CBS Strat

Finally finished (well, almost, still needs an action/intonation setup, just about everything above the 13/14th fret on the E strings frets out and the pickguard screws need to go in)

Specs:
Ebony/Canary Neck
SS6105 Frets
Schaller Mini-Locking Tuners
One-Piece Swamp Ash Body
Cherry Burst Finish
Lollar Blonde/Blonde/Special Pickups

The pickups on this guitar sound so good. They stay full and never sound thin but chime like no other. Truly a vintage strat sound. The hotter bridge pickup works really well for leads and some rhythm parts. This has the be best sounding strat I've ever played, beats everything I've ever played at guitar center.

It plays really well too, I have 11's on it right now and they are easier to play than the 10's on my old guitar. Sometime, I forget that I even have a neck, it feels so good.

The only complaint I have is how the cable never really seems to want to go into the jack, I almost have to force it in. Is this because its so new and needs to be broken in?

Great guitar! There is probably a wire jamming up the works between the jack and the wood in the side of the top jack route. Undo the jack plate, bend the connectors on the jack back just a little bit, and screw the jack plate back in, being careful that wires are out of the way. Maybe have the cable in the jack when you install it just to make sure.

And get some string trees! At least one.

Nice :icon_thumright:  Love how the Headstock grain seems to flow into the body grain......cool Geetar!

I second the string tree.  :headbang:

I think its going to need string trees and a really good action/truss rod set-up, because right now, the action feels really screwed up

The truss rod is shipped with relief (loose).  At the very least, it needs to be tightened a hair then make adjustments accordingly.  With the four Warmoth necks I've received, every nut has been high, no doubt on purpose so you can setup to your liking.  If you lack the skills and/or appropriate files, take it somewhere.  There's absolutely no shame in having someone else do this.  As always, an assembly is not a setup, and a proper setup can make a world of difference in playability.

Yeah, take it in if you're not comfortable doing the nut and truss rod adjustment.

The only complaint I have is how the chord never really seems to want to go into the jack, I almost have to force it in. Is this because its so new and needs to be broken in?

I had the same problem at first. I just rotated the jack a little. And it works just fine now.
