doing a recap on an older blues jr for a friend.......his kit has caps for C1 and 4 that are rated 22uf 25 volts. Specs call for a 35 volt cap.at 22uf..I have so 60 volt 22uf. If I’m not using the correct spec I’m more comfy using higher voltage rather than an underrated cap....on my own I’d just do it. This may be stupid....but the 60 volt are better/ok ...correct?

There is plenty of room so that’s no an issue.

Electronically, the capacity is the thing. If it needs to be 22uf, that's what it needs to be. The working voltage is just an insulation rating for the dielectric internally. Lower may fail, higher is fine. Won't change the performance of the circuit at all.

That’s what I thought but I do one of these every few years, just wanted a backup.

To be completely pedantic.... using an electrolytic capacitor with a voltage rating way higher than necessary can result in selecting a part with a higher ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance). But mostly it's a question of unnecessary ratings driving up the cost, being too big, etc...  Just make sure you're using the right type.

Ha! It freaking works as expected all mods successfully applied ....no more boxy tone from this one.

I did the Fromel supreme kit on it as well as as switch with stand by and a mod 20 reverb tank. Added a C-Rex speaker. It was nonfunctional before so a huge improvement in tone. :turtle:
