I have placed my order for a hollow body strat and am trying to get a gibson sound from it. I see many wiring sites some say gibson used a .02 cap and just as many that say to use a .47 cap and still others that say to us a .02 in the neck and a .47 in the bridge. I ordered the 2 of the .47 but know am second guessing what I should use. So what did Gibson use and what can I expect if I use the .47

Thank You
Ken

wasn't the "Gibson sound" due largely to their use of humbuckers, whereas Fender was focused on single-coils?

all the best,

For this build I am using a mahogony hollow body strat and mahogony neck with zircote board. It is routed for 2 humbuckers (skatterbranes) and recessed TOM. as for the switching I am having it is rear routed standard strat style and I will have 2 volume knobs and a concetric pot for the 2 tones on a 3-way switch. hope that helps a little.
