SSShhhhhhhhh! DO NOT mention the word "nak*d" or anything remotely similar as it will shut down the ISP network! :icon_jokercolor:
This issue has been burning since a change of Govt. in 2008. It was an election issue at that time.
Since then there's been a trial but many of the participating ISPs in that trial withdrew as they feared it would s.........l.............o..............w...... down their network.
Our internet infrastructure borders upon 3rd world status, and although the present Federal Govt. has upped the ante by declaring that they will have a National Broadband Network built, come hell or high water, this issue of filtering is being forced as a pre requisite inclusive to the building of the NBN. Cyncially, one could say as a means to capture the right wing conservative types & their one or two Senate votes in the Federal upper House for the crucial supply bill vote, & who believe that internet= p*rno filth, smut, violence and terrorist groups, this filtering was offered as part of the 'package'.
I suspect that as soon as it is inserted between the ISPs & the users of an internet network, there will be a flood of complaints and those who are tech savvy will go overseas to find out ways around it. I would guess it will be a piece of software at a crucial link stage, and maybe, just maybe, some kids would end up working ways around it and pass the 'word' around. If you can get emails out of China denouncing their Govt., if you can post p*rn attachments and send it from an Iranian email addy in spite of their strict Sharia Law, if you can hook up a webcam in North Korea or Lybia, then I suspect this filtering package has only days before it's cracked! :evil4:

Wana's made a guitar said:On all the school computer and the laptops that were given out to us students by Mr. Rudd, there is already a filtering system and it infuriates me soo much to the point which I want to become a politician just so I can punch out whoever comes up with these ideas. I can't get on any forum at school or on my laptop. No social networking sites at all. Even a reference to a link that has a bad link inside of that on a page rarely used on a site will be blocked.
Everything you do on the computers is recorded, then as soon as you connect to the internet it's all sent to a company in Canada which then decides if you've been naughty or nice.
Lets hope they don't go ahead with this filtering Idea, or at least hope it isn't as bad as the filtering at my school.
I didn't post it for the beer reference...bpmorton777 said:an Austalian friend once told me that they dont drink fosters there...it's an American beer. Same thing with Kangaroo beer as well. I could be wrong :dontknow:

Well next to Shiner Bach(which is made in Shiner Texas) Fosters is a favorite of mine and then Stella Artois and Becks. Other than Shiner Bach I rarely drink any of the domestic beers here , most of them are like water. Don't know what Fosters tasted like in the 80's, but what they are make now is good...OzziePete said:Oi!!!!!!!!!!! :laughing7:
The truth about Foster's Beer is that it is now rarely on tap in pubs or clubs these days.
And you might have some troubles getting cans or stubbies of Foster's in liquor stores.
Generally, the average beer I drink on occassions is Victoria Bitter, but I do like to change drinks around when I do decide to drink alcohol. Because of my job driving buses, I do not drink in between shift days and rarely on my days' off.
The taste of Foster's Beer changed in the late 80s when it went global. It divorced itself from the main Carlton and United Brewery and in the process of that changed taste.
CUB kept on with their other beers, and if you are an afficionado of beer, when you travel to Australia, you will find a plethora of beers both on tap and in bottles and cans. Enjoy!
(One of the more funny ironies about this beer situation with me, is that the team that I support in Football, plays out of a stadium named after Bluetongue Brewery - Bluetongue Stadium. And the Bluetongue on tap AT THAT STADIUM tastes like cat's pee. None of us who respect our taste buds drink the stuff on tap there! Bluetongue is a hard enough bitter tasting beer as it is, but trying to swallow the stuff after it has been through putrid taps is enough to put you off the best game of football.)
