Build an Electric Classical guitar

I found a nice classical guitar piece I wanted to play but my fingers got tangled up with the narrow string spacing on my Tele neck.
I could go and buy a cheap nylon string classical guitar but where is the fun in that?
I think my Warmoth option is the Fat Strat neck at 48mm vs the classical 52mm.
One intriguing possibility is the cheap Harley Benton 8 string guitar from Thomann.de with a nut width of 54mm. A bit of work with a spoke-shave will narrow it down a bit, and then make a new nut, a bit of mayhem to rig up a suitable bridge and job done.
As we all know, a fraction of a mm can make all the difference to the feel of a neck.
Any opinions on what I should do?
