Seymour Duncan 35th Anniversary Tele  :o

When I 1st saw this, I   thought it must have those pricey $$$$$$$ Zephyr Pickups.
Then when I looked a bit closer it's just got Original JB & Jazz “Concept” Copper-Wound Pickups.

OH my  %@*#    %#*@^*%  :o

Not even SS Frets

OK it's all right (Not the price) .... BUT I've seen HEAPS better one's around here on this forum :icon_biggrin:
Which I bet didn't cost them anywhere near that much.
Like I said build 3 Warmoth beauties for that price  :cool01:

I reakon that's about $4,500 ...... just for the name on the headstock !!

Come to think of it, I think someone could build that for a 1/4 of the price  :toothy10:
OH ... and Warmoth gets a mention  :icon_thumright:

To a lot of people, that name on the headstock means more to them than quality, playability, tone, craftsmanship etc.

If that's worth $6K, then Max's has gotta be worth $10K. Mine's probably worth $12K. Bagman's is probably worth $15K. We need to start selling these things.

Those guitars DO come with the Zephyr pickups on the side, as case candy. Still too expensive. I'd rather build a Warmoth Strat again. And another Jaguar. And a tele.

+1.

This is IMO very true. I know more people that would rather pay for this if they can then built 3 W's. And they actually play their guitars rarely.

From all their reasoning I accept only the resale value argument.

They will never understand the satisfaction that comes by choosing every peace of your instrument and completing the project.

To each their own.

Well, the 35,000 year-old mastodon ivory - as a "conversation piece" - with the people I know, the only conversation you'd be having was what a moron you are to think that the age and origin of the material the nut's made of was going to make you into a cooler dude. Man.

authentic “abandoned” Telecaster string-through holes with ferrules consistent with the original guitar modification,

They do this kind of thing just to torment me, don't they? Really? Did you see they even mention "Warmoth 6105 nickel-silver medium tall frets", so we know they didn't build the neck themselves. Hmm. I wonder where they got the body... :icon_scratch:

And they don't even claim it's a duplicate of the famous one that Seymour made for Jeff Beck (and used to bilk him out of his "Yardbirds" Tele), it's an "evolution"... too bad it couldn't have evolved it's way past those idiot Kluson tuners. Crikey, Ibanez uses better tuners on their $200 guitars. The idea that Klusons somehow "sound better" because they were on some guitars that were used way-back-when to make some great music (in spite of the crap tuners) is... well, so maybe the mastodon nut guarantees you can play even gooder than a Neanderthal man.

But what TUBES did they use back then??? :o :o :o
AIEEE!!! AIEEE!!! AIEEE!!!

THEY'RE JUST OUT TO GET ME, AREN'T THEY??? all of them are in it together....

ummm did you see the shipping cost...one could concievably build a warmoth for the shipping fee alone.

Free shipping to US is what I read.  If you can build a guitar for that price, I'll take four!

When I checked the default was set to Australia and it was $365 for shipping...you are correct when you select the US it is free. I stand corrected

You're not alone. If you go crazy, I'll meet you there.

Silver conductor wire for the pickups, which is about 1% more conductive than copper.

Ummm - it's a nice looking one-piece ash body? The tailpiece is in the right spot, as opposed to way too far back on the Warmoths? It requires no expertise to assemble?
That's about all I got.....I reckon if you are comfortable with doing a spray nitro finish yourself, you can build that for $800. And have better tuners, your choice of pickups, custom switching.

Over priced Fenders is how I found Warmoth.  I want a Tele and couldn't find anything that had what I wanted for a decent price.  I went looking for a simulator to see what a modified Fender would look like and found the link to Warmoth's builder.  After Christmas I should be able to start ordering parts to get this addiction going  :)

...and a fine addiction it is too  :glasses9:

I cared about the name on the headstock until I experienced a Warmoth guitar for myself.  I couldn't give a damn how much weight the Warmoth name does or doesn't carry, because I'll GUARANTEE it plays better than anything a Warmoth "basher" has ever played.

IMO, the only things I can complain about are the fact there is no neck-through option through Warmoth or option to get binding on a ss-fretted neck.

I don't care for the 'no binding with SS frets' cause I wear them out within 6 years anyway (the regular frets) so I'll do a neck with binding and regular frets, and when it's time for a refret I'll just ask for SS frets.

the guys who bash warmoth or 'bolt on les pauls' (in my case ;) ) just don't know what they're talking about. I literally prefer bolt on over neckthru. and yeah, I have neckthru les pauls.

I love the feeling of a neck-through.  There's just a unique, solid feel to them.  I obviously wouldn't count out bolt-ons but given a side by side choice of the same guitar, one with a bolt-on and one with a neck-through I'd reach for the neck-through without thinking twice
