Boss VE-8 / TC Acoustic Play

I know there's a few folks who play acoustic out... I just found out about these units and was wondering if anyone has personal experience with either.  Got a couple drums up for sale and planning to pick something up, still not sure which (or possibly neither - the TC Correct XT might be a better bet given the sound reinforcement situation, with its feedback suppression.)

It's here. After my initial "WTh (little h) did I just buy?!?!" reaction (I'm a Life member of the Amp + Cable club), I got to spend half an hour with it after the kid went to bed. Pitch correction actually sounds good, even in my "barely making pitched vocal sounds with beard hairs getting stuck in mic grille" volume. The harmony part the jury is still out on, but it seems ok in barely discernible amounts.

The acoustic resonance thing is not particularly helpful on my JJB pickup, but it does make the UST in my Guild sound less quacky.  I can see I need to spend a good bit more time with this before my next performance, but I'm pretty confident I'll be using it then.
