I do understand that the fretboard, neck wood, bridge and pickups will have more an influence on the final tone.....
that being said I am curious what everyones opinion would be regarding body woods (back & top) for a three humbucker thinline.

most important is that you all should know I plan on using this guitar for approximately %50 Jazz, %25 blues %25 rock

I prefer satin finishes to anything else  ThankSSS!!

Thats what i want contemplating for my eventual thinline until Jay went and screwed up my plans.

As far off as that project is though, its going to morph between 5 string tele to 7 string baritone shredder to 28.625" concert pitch with variations of tele, p90, gfs liverpools, and now mini humbuckers six or seven more times before it goes anywhere though.

Well actually what I want to build is a 7 string thinline with 3 humbuckers and a 2 wide neck.    Wanting opinions on this forum but judging from warmoths options I will actually have to find somewhere else to buy the materials.

Mahogany. Not normally a spelling nazi, but for some reason this word bothers me - I could never get it consistently right until very recently when it bothered me enough to come up with a mnemonic. (hog, not hag)

If you're gonna play jazz I would recommend a dark sounding wood. Something like mohogany will give you the sustain you need in rock too :)

Rosewood if you got the $$$ for it.  Looks rad, sounds rad-er.  Otherwise I'd go with BK, makore, or mahogany.
