Warmoth Soloist body - alder finished in Blackburst Neon Orange. Bubinga neck with Macassar Ebony 24 fret fingerboard. DiMarzio Mo' Joe humbucker with push/push for series/parallel. Schaller Lockmeister recessed tremolo with Tremol-No and Schaller Mini Locking tuners.

Handsome axe!

I've never seen a single knob quite so far from the strings.  I reckon you're seeking to avoid any unintended manipulation of the knob?

Thanks.

It's actually the standard 3. position - but the body being slimmer than the strat-shape makes it closer to the edge.

And yes - I'm motoric challenged - I need those volume knobs out of the way.  :icon_biggrin:

On the next one, why not go straight from the pickup to the jack? :laughing7: That's actually something I've long been tempted to try, but I assume I'd regret it the one time in a blue moon I'd actually want to use the knob.

I have tried that.  :icon_biggrin: But the pickup gets a little shrill and it is rather nice to have the option to turn it down when not played.

Buddy of mine ripped all of the pots out of his Ibanez and replaced them with an on-off switch between the jack and pup. Nary a complaint in three years.

@SustainerPlayer, that's a sleek guitar. I'm curious, why the classic-style bonnet knob instead of a more modern roundtop to match the other hardware? does it work better with the split coil push pot?

Somebody here built a fiddle a few years back with no controls at all. Used a volume pedal on the floor for cranking the thing up/down. Same effect, just a different approach.

Love it! I have been eying the transparent neon orange for a bit now. I really like the black fade into it. Very nice.

I saw that in the showcase, and wondered how it would look with a neck and pickups.  You've implemented it pretty well.

Looks awesome, man.  How do you like the Mo Joe as a bridge pup?  I have one, but it occupies the neck slot.  Great sounding pickup.

Thanks guys.

@misterfinn - I just like the strat-style knob better and it also give me the chance to make my little nod to mr. EVH by using a tone knob for volume.

@DocNrock - The Mo'Joe pickup is my favourite bridge pickup. I also have it in my #1 Warmoth build:

which also has a Paf Joe in bridge. It's wired up PRS-style.

The sound of Satriani with PRS wiring in a stratocaster. The perfect guitar.  :sign13: :)
