Hi, I have a body with a black korina top and was wondering if it needs to be grain filled or just sanded and sealed with sanding sealer from Stumac.    I am going to nitro the top either way.  The body is alder and I have the same question as to grain fill or not as well.  Seen alot of conflicting opinons on the net.  Thanks, Mulguitar :party07:

I did both on my Korina top...sealed it first, then grain filled (using ebony Timbermate).  It definitely needed to be filled if I was ever going to get a glass finish on it.  Going to sand the excess off today, and hopefully no more filler will be needed.
