Yah, it was a good time... !~~

Beautiful guitars, women, bikes and beer. What could possibly be wrong with that? Looks like a little slice of heaven.

a deluxe from the early 70s?

and I don't know anything about gibson.... the mini hums are a hint, but the 2 knobs throw me off..

either way, looks like a fun day!!! :)

edit* and now I see there is an extra ring around the mini humbucker... weird...

That was actually... a STANDARD

The DeLuxe didn't come out until they switched back to full size humbuckers.

And 1971 would be the year.  You see examples of 71 Standards with large HB's, as factory orders, or as conversions.  Dealers could order the full size pickup on special order from the factory, just by asking for it.

The actual Les Paul "Standard" of that era - '68 through '71 had the smaller pickup.

But... notice the GOOF RINGS!  And two knobs are just missing - you can see the shafts sticking thru the body.

Check out the wear on the finish!  Great guitar.

Cool, American Iron Horse, albeit a now defunct company. But they made some badass bikes, and were made here in Texas.. Too bad them and most of the other bike makers went tits up.. But yet those retards at occ are still making that crap they call mototrcycles... :dontknow:

Oh well, bike rally's are always good times... :icon_thumright:

occ makes what? a few bikes a year? they have foreign investors and the tv aspect means they are a way for advertising. they call them theme bikes, it's more like ad. bikes. now they changed the old show room where they ran a ducati dealership in their shop, and also the parts division into a cafe. the bike shop doesn't support the business, they tried to hang on to it for too long but on any given day the shop is completely empty. what you see on tv is a farse. i live in orange county. i stop in the building occasionally to see what they have going on. basically the buiness makes money in merchandise royalties that are made by other vendors. the shop was unsustainable and basically for tv only. since the shop was the unprofitable part of the business they used the bad economy as leverage to renegotiate the mortgage to put them in a better position they shut down the parts sales to create the cafe. there is a viewing area in the building to see the lifeless shop. a very small display of accessories they make on the cnc and a lot of clothing merchandise. they use the cnc shop to do contract work for other companies occasionally.

the lesson here, if you are bad at business but create drama get some foreign investors, a tv show and clients with a disposable advertising budget. sell merch and open a cafe.

what paul junior thinks he's doing is another story all together and destined for total failure within a few years IMHO. i really think he's pissing up a rope with that business adventure.
