Just finished assembling it yesterday. My 1st basswood soloist.

As always, the Warmoth parts were all top quality & I'm VERY impressed with the Dimarzio Injector pickups.  :hello2:

That was quick. Did you know you have to wire it, too? Otherwise, it doesn't count. I think there's a law. It was a rider on one of those "for the children" things, like "how big a raise do we vote for ourselves this year?" Yeah. Vote against that.

Looks good, though. So... whaddaya want, a cookie? What have you done for us lately? <grin>

Seriously, though - good job. You will be the envy of all who look upon you and lust after your quilted/flamed all-American goodness.

This is like one of those cooking shows where they show you all the ingredients in separate bowls, and then they just pull a finished product out of the oven.  :icon_biggrin:

No in between pics of assembly? Seems like there were a lot of steps in there...

I didn't do the paint job, or the actual building of the guitar, just the assembly, so I wouldn't have any cool in between pics of the tree being cut down, the wood being worked on by the CNS machine, the body being sprayed etc.

Gee I was expecting progress pic's .... Damm fast !!
Yummie quilt  :icon_thumright:
How about some nice close up shots of that quilt  :icon_biggrin:
(The quilt looks similar to my Black Strat Quilt)
I can't see clearly, But did you use SD Triple shot on the bridge Hum ?

I'll do a better pic of the quilt, as the last one turned out kinda blurry.

I put the SD triple shot on everything now. Once you try it, you can't go back.

I wanted a single coil that could balance with the output of the Air Norton in the bridge, but still sounded like a single coil, minus the hum.

I wasn't expecting too much from the Injector, as I thought it would be too high output to sound like a genuine single coil, but I was wrong. It sounds like a tight, fat single coil with plenty of high end.

I put an Area 67 in the middle, so when you combine the two, it sounds totally strat like with a ton of spank, but still tight, fat & with a good amount of output.

I think the Injector is the best noiseless high output single coil out there. Kudos to Dimarzio & Paul Gilbert.  :occasion14:

+1.
If more people tried the Area-series pickups, they'd think twice about "boutique" pickups.

AT one point Boutique pickups meant something unique, different, better, exotic etc. Now a days, it's usually a guy with a $200 pickup winding machine in his basement & a good ad copy trying to take you for all he can.

A friend just paid $300 for a pair of humbuckers since he talked to the maker over the phone & was told that his pickups have a special 'mojo sauce' spread on the coils that make them better, but wouldn't elaborate what the sauce was or what it did, but as soon as my friend heard that, his credit card was out of his wallet in a flash.

He will also never play a Dimarzio or Duncan as he's positive that these boutique gurus know something that a multimillion $ company with decades of experience can't possibly know.  :dontknow:

Interesting.
But wanting to compare the output  with a fender o s.duncan single, the injector is like....?

The output is definitely higher than the Fender noiseless single coils, but not as spanky or high endy.

I've heard SD noiseless single coils that are hotter, but they don't really sound like single coils.

Dimarzio has created about as high an output noiseless single coil as can be while still retaining the single coil sound. Couple the Injector with an Area 67 in the middle & it's totally authentic imo.

I have a set of Duncan SSL-1 (single-traditional), Fender Texas Special CS (idem) and Suhr V60LP (idem), in output ascending order.
If you've heard this pups, how you position injector pu with these?

I haven't heard ths Suhrs, but compared to the rest, it has more output. I think we measured it at around 9k, where as the Area 67s were around 5k.
