Hey, well as you can see from my assembly post i have got all the parts for my bass, but however i need help on what you suggest i do myself, and what i dont do myself so heres the list
  • Attach Tuners to neck (half done/ one badly but can be finished properly)
  • Attach neck to body
  • Strap holder screw holes need drilling then attaching
  • Pick ups need installing
  • Bridge needs installing, all holes pre drilled for right bridge
  • jack plug needs screws for plate drilled for then attached
  • Electronics require installing then soldering together using Wiring Diagram approved by you guys beforehand ages ago
now all of this is without including the string installation and final set up, as i know how to do them and my old bass teacher could also help as im back home for summer
Also my original plan included a 3 way toggle switch which warmoth couldnt drill for, however with a pre painted body do you think this is an ok hole to drill, most likely by a professional luthier?
If ive missed any steps out then include them in any reply.
just want to get an idea for what you think i could be able to do myself with some patience and concentration.
This is my first time putting together a bass Cheers

As long as you have the proper tools, I don't see why you couldn't do everything!!!

Notice I made the word proper stand out.......  It pays to have the right tools for the job!!!  It's way too easy to eff something up with the 'almost proper' tool.

Haha yeah i know what you mean,
well to be honest i dont have the proper tools for the drilling, nor the know how if im honest.

but as far as screwing stuff into pre drilled holes and soldering the electrics, well ive got a set of various size screw drivers, a good soldering iron with good solder, and i know how to use one very well, and a wiring diagram for it.
but its just the drilling holes not already drilled that i dont want to mess up,
well hopefully i should be getting an email tommorow from someone near me about doing the bits i dont have the proper tools for.
hopefully only them bits and wont try to do more of it, cause i want to do the bits i know i can haha :)

definitely do as much as you know you can do without risking some serious damage to the instrument. I pre-drilled for my string-tree and missed the mark the first time, even with a drill press. I kinda flipped out and broke something... But it's a learning experience and it's my first build, so it comes with the territory. My best advice is that if there's stuff you can't do yourself, try and find someone who can but will let you be there and help out. Like paying a tech or a luthier to do it kinda sucks, because you'll never learn that way. But maybe if you have a friend who's got tools or somebody who knows woodworking then you can have them do it and watch over their shoulder for the next time. I'm sure you'll figure something out
