Bass - Wood suggestions

Hey guys,
I have all the parts i need to finish my bass, except the body (because i'm unable to decide). I have one of the warmoth all Indian rosewood neck (which is amazing, super smooth), and a emg active-x PJ pickup setup, a badass III bridge that's string through.
ANYWAYS, here is my plan for the body (i'm just gonna order the custom builder, and have them do the wood finishing), i want an Explorer shape, and i'll get it chambered (so its lighter). I am going to get a Walnut top laminate and get the clear satin finish on it. i just cant decide on the core wood, i want a really smooth milky tone with not much high-end snap, i want all the notes to come through really clear and smooth, but want to avoid getting that slap bight sound, i don't like that high end, ear piercing tone. I don't know if that description makes any sense. but i am between Mahogany and Black Korina. (the bassbuilder only really has these wood choices: Basswood, Adler, Swamp Ash, Mahogany, Black Korina and Walnut).... SOOO, anyone knowledgeable on which wood's tone is best, let me know!
THANKS

Out of all the basses I've owned and built, I honestly prefer the Alder bodies the most.  They seem warm without too much high-end noise.  You can't go wrong with Mahogany either.

Just a thought.

The weight of the body should also be a factor.  You don't need it to be unnecessarily neck heavy considering its a rosewood neck.  Hipshot ultralites will help, but It's good to be conscious of it while planning.

BASS--wood anyone? :laughing3:

Seriously...if you are looking for even tones...alders or basswood would be fine.  Are you staining or painting?  those woods lack detailed grains.
