I know there's another thread, but that one is a lot more generic and philosophical. I've been recording with the Zoom R24 a week or two now and it's got me rethinking my tube snobbery. Not that they're not fun, but when you combine 1) I can't ever crank it, and 2) even if I can, I can't seem to get that on "tape", it kinda becomes a much more practical pursuit.
I've got a dialed back MsCrunch tweaked for my JTM45 sounds and similar with a bit more gain for JCM800 sounds. I'm finding some compression helps with "sounding like it's played loud". Not just overall volume. I'd actually like to try some mild compression AFTER distortion for more touch sensitive crunch, but the Zoom won't give me a routing that will support that.
So I gets to thinking about the Eleven and the "Buy it for ProTools and dump the Eleven on ebay" sales. I took a peek at the manual, and it doesn't look like the Eleven supports ANY dynamic effects. Just amp/cabinet/mic modelling. Is that correct? It's a tad dissapointing if so. I had hopes of it being an complete solution. Which, it could be, since I usually don't play with effects. Anyone have any direct experience with the Eleven?
