I was looking at getting the behringer 1010 but its 27 inches wide and won't fit on my pedal board.

so I took a look at the Roland FC300 and it fits just fine.... so long as I ditch my wah pedal, that and it's twice the money

I'm looking for something with similar function of these two but with a smaller footprint.  21 inches or less would be ideal.  the FC300 is barely too big.

the only one I found that might work for me is this one:
http://www.nobels.com/en/index.htm .. hmm..  the website wont give an exact webpage link.. look around, its the MF2  but external expression pedals would be needed.

These guys have some interesting products too but they are crazy expensive: http://www.gordius.be/

There isn't really a lot out there is there?  A lot of products on that list are either discontinued or are proprietary like the digitech stuff.

One thing I don't want is one of those ugly square boxes that have a grid of switches on it.

This: http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=10691.0
maybe this: http://www.waldorfmusic.de/en/products/blofeld/blofeld_user_interface (havent decided)
and definately this: http://cycling74.com/products/maxmspjitter/
I might even use it to extend what I can do with my GT-10

i cant imagine what you are doing with that stuff but i like it!
sorry no input on a decent controller though. that cycling 74 stuff is very cool. how didn't i ever hear about that?

Oh. I forgot this:
http://www.propellerheads.se/products/reason/index.cfm?fuseaction=get_article&article=what-is-it

I'm probably going to get reason over the blofeld.

as for MaxMSP, I started another thread here: http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=10366.0 about it.

I heard about it in school and its one of the things i'll be focusing on.  a lot of the guys at school joined up because they wanted to work in a recording studio.  Which is quite the pipe dream.  Its stuff like MaxMSP that is going to be what makes me valuable in the industry, and I gotta say it's a blast.  I'm half considering selling most of my floorboard effects and programming all of my own in max, then getting a touchscreen to fiddle with them on stage.

Obviously i still need a foot controller.

If you're interested in Max, there is a demo on the cycling 74 website, but also you can get puredata, which is basically the same program, written by the same guy, but open source.  It's just not as sexy looking, and its a little more clunky to work with.

i had an iphone app that could control random things over wifi. it didn't have a dedicated purpose it was universal and needed alot of configuring but could potentially control just about anything on your computer remotely. not like a remote desktop or vnc program but had buttons that you needed to configure to do a specific task. more for people with computers skills.
i doubt the small screen is what you are looking for. it's just that what you're doing reminded me of that.

Well... um...

I was looking at those.  It seems nearly everybody sells or builds them to look like that.  I don't know that I'd want anything with more than 2 rows on it and such little tiny switches.

Hmm, if you are looking for a lesser qty of switches and a small size, the LiquidFoot Jr is the way to go. I have a LF Pro and it is EXCEPTIONALLY capable. The Jr is just a smaller version with less switches and exp pedal inputs. They are more expensive though than what has been referenced.

yeah price is a big point too.

My Rivera's footswitch is actually midi, so I could use that If i wanted something that simple.  Mind you all it does is program change messages. but it does it across all 16 channels which seems to be a premium function.  But i'm selling the amp so I don't want to rely on it.

I actually bought one of those Behringer FCB1010, mostly because it was the cheapest option, for using live with my electronica project. Not only is it bulky, but it also weighs a ton. It does the job though.

Something smaller that hasn't been mentioned yet is the Yamaha MFC 10. It has only one expression pedal and the switches are large round buttons, could be what you're looking for.

Looks promising.

I just bit the bullet though, and bought an FC-300 used on Ebay.  I guess I"ll just use the Wahs in my GT-10.  Some of them actually sound better than my dunlop anyway.
