...and the time/patience/indulgence to find me some reasonably accurate measurements?

There are pseudo blueprints around online, but the stated dimensions don't appear to scale with the drawings.

These are the ones I'm after:

Slight preference for metric, but whatever works for you. I'd be enormously grateful.

Asking because my 'drawing board' currently looks like this:

Worryingly, I actually have the materials (for the body) on hand...

That's absolutely beautiful, Pete! I'm going to follow this one with interest.

A couple of these dimensions were hard to get totally accurately with the thing mounted on the guitar but here is what I got:

A = +-96mm
B = +-110mm
C = 97.2mm or 105.5 to both shaft ends
D = 57mm
E = 85mm
F = +-93.2mm

Wow, Pete! That's a great looking concept, just hope you have a good supply of headstock tape on hand! "Big G" ain't the only overly litigious game in town.....  :icon_jokercolor:

Many thanks for taking the trouble, Robert - those dimensions make a lot more sense.

Appreciate the kind words, but I can't claim to have come up with the idea myself - Google 'Rickentele' or similar.

As far as the risk of litigation goes, the concept is just that - a concept. In all likelihood only the body will actually be made. Hopefully a one-off 'tribute' made by a bloke in a shed won't stir any legal types into action.

I have a piece of English cherry big enough for a single piece body and a plain maple top (or back in this case) that always* makes me think of Ricks, so what can a guy to do but succumb to his whims?

*I say always because I got it cheap ages ago and it's been nothing but warpy trouble - I've jointed and glued it up twice and I'm still not 100% happy with it.

I'll update my 'no Warmoth content' thread with this and some other stuff shortly...

Glad the dimensions helped.

Looking forward to seeing progress pics. Rickentele looks good but yours is really cool. Change it somewhat and you own the design.

Cherry should look good. Is the piece thick enough to slice off the back or top and glue it back afterwards?

Put a Warmoth neck on it and there's "Warmoth content". pard.

Love that design!  Never been a huge Rick fan due to the shape of their body, but it really works on a tele shape body.  Can't wait to see the finished product.  :rock-on:
