Any reading suggestions?

I enjoy reading some posts a lot more than I understand them - especially those related to electronics and sound.  I'd really like to get a better idea of how sound works and the physics involved in a guitar - the nuts and bolts of string vibration, intonation, etc.  Also, the physics of electronics, so I can develop a better idea of the what and how of pickups, switching and such... 

Anyone have some suggestions for good reading materials?
