Many years ago I had a Seymour Duncan Hot Stack for Tele matched with a Jazz Model humbucker in the neck. It’s been a long time but I remember a few things about it. It wasn’t really all that hot, not even close to keeping up with the Jazz Model. As far as its sound, I loved it dirty - it had a great crunch and a “growl” that said, “See! I’m still a Tele!” But without any noise. It lost me on the cleans though. It did not have the “spank” or “snap” or whatever word you want to use to describe the Tele bridge pickup’s percussive sort of attack. I ultimately ended up dropping it for a Seymour Duncan Jerry Donahue bridge pickup, and I loved everything about the Jerry Donahue. Later paired it with a Lollar Firebird in the neck and that was a great match in terms of output and sonics. Said all that to say all this: if you are going to be playing loud and gritty with it, it will impart some Tele flavor to your sound and you’ll love that it’s quiet. However if you play cleanish and want the genuine Telecaster twang and spank, I think it will leave you wanting.
I have not played them myself, but the Bill Lawrence noiseless pickups seem to be held in very high regard even by the hoity-toity types over at TDPRI :toothy12:
IMHO, YMMV, etc, etc.....
