Tonar8353 said:That is a good price. Remember they have to finish the pickguard on an Antigua Strat also. Have ever seen an original Antigua Strat of Tele? They are pretty unique!
$325.00 with the pickguard.how much would a special burst like this cost in your territory (just to know)?
Mark O said:and all this because they screwed up glueing on the binding!
dudesweet157 said:The Antigua finish first appeared on late 60's model Coronados as an attempt to cover the edges of the bodies where they had been scorched by something or other when the binding was being applied, or so I've heard. I personally think it is gorgeous when does well (as Warmoth has). However, there is a particular shade of seasick green Antigua that you sometimes see on the old vintage models, or more recently on the MIJ reissues that is just butt ugly and deserves all the hate it recieves.
dudesweet157 said:As you can see, the bursted edges are gray on a "correct" antigua, but in the MIJ reissues, they artificially aged the finish and it took on a baby poop green hue that is a butt ugly abomination.

It's funny you say that. I rarely laugh out loud at things, and I did at that. I was secretly considering one. For me, the "furniture" guitars are gateway ugly.
