This one has kind of just fallen together - a used body from the board, a neck rejected by an ebay buyer, a good deal on some pups, etc.
Body is very very light, pups are duncan '59 and JB, I have a PG bridge pup I could use instead, neck is a pro SRV 6150 with nitro finish.
I haven't done a complete inventory of my parts bin, but I think I only need tuners and an output jack and about 4 hours time.

It's that kind of simple vibe, yes  but with a hardtail, better pickups, trick switching options, and a better neck. It's going to work out to about that same $500 price too, but with all-USA parts. Honestly it's not the swishiest guitar I've built, far from it - and it may end up getting traded for a dobro or an AC15, who knows. Just wanted to post pics of the latest axe.

I envy people like you (and there are many on this forum).
I try to explain me quickly: I would never choose those colors and that configuration to build a strat. Now that I see the project *almost made*, I ask me: do you like it?  Absolutely, amazing look guitar.
So... I lack imagination and courage

It's drilled for kluson old-school tuners, so I'll get the locking ones from stew mac that work great. It's a little weird to have klusons on a more modern type strat, but whatevs. I'm sure this thing will rock no matter the tuners.

Gotta love the footshot. I remember selling a guitar and i had my foot in one of the pictures and some ass sent me a message saying he would have bought it if it wasn't for the disgusting footshot. Guy seriously needed help.  :icon_jokercolor:

Crap, I'm on deck for a guitar just like that. Silver is definitely a great color on guitars. Not too new, not too old, and not played out by everyone and their brother. Your parts guitar isn't too far off from what I'm planning.

OH yeah - I have a 5 way mega switch and the skillz to pretty much do any combo of coils / phase / tapping etc. - but the '59 isn't splittable only the JB. Which limits the options substantially for the two "special" spots - of course it'll have neck, both parallel in phase, and bridge. The "4" position is going to be both parallel in phase, bridge tapped. What about the "2" position? "both, series, out of phase?" "Both, series, in phase"? "both, parallel, bridge 1/2 out of phase?"
Any suggestions?
