Incredibly surprisingly I like the metallic.
If you asked Warmoth nicely, I think they'd do the front in the metallic ice blue and the back... something else - clear over mahogany probably being the obvious choice, but maybe a complementary or contrasting transparent colour. Not only would that be incredibly cool looking, but it would allow me to vicariously build the MC that's been on the drawing board for the last several years. What more motivation could you need?

@mayfly yes, I do. I really do. First I like the 30" scale sooo much. Second, I like the look of the mooncaster body. There's something that really does it for me. Third, those TV Jones pickups sound fantastic.
@stratmania There is not enough black guitars in the world. There's a reason why it's up for consideration.
@rick I think you nailed it. I was thinking the main body would be mahogany, but I think swamp ash would be the right call. Even with maple/maple as the neck. I've got a body with clear swamp ash. I'll make a judgement in a bit.
I was able to get this in the showcase. So the neck is now a given. 30" scale, maple/maple, black dots, already painted satin nitro. Standard 6150 frets, so we'll have to see about that... But, can't argue about the price I got it for. I snagged that on Friday, didn't have time to post it.
