I bought a bass body (A squier jazz bass - not my thing but I want to practice bass before ordering a Warmoth Gecko) for $50 with all electronics, and I got a neck from my friend that he had in storage. He did a fretless conversion but covered the fretboard in epoxy. By the looks of it it's pretty freakin thick. What's the best way to remove this? I would like to get it off, maybe cut some wood for lines and make it a playable neck. Was also considering removing the finish off the body, which has numerous dings (Including one that's allen-wrench shaped) and replace it with an oil finish. Can't really go horribly wrong when it's a low quality thing to begin with. I already checked and the neck DOES fit, it's just buzzy as all get-out from the epoxy.
