An other big polishing paper score

Hi there,

I was cleaning out the basement and found my Dad's old Christmas HO train set and along with that
a large 4" wide roll (about 30 feet or more) of this very very fine polishing paper.
He was using it to clean the track rails.

I'd guess it at higher than 800 grit by the feel on my finger tips.

I'm guessing the "3/0" signifies the coarseness? Like 000 steel wool. I could be wrong though, cause it's the same amount of characters, so it wouldn't make much sense.

Good guess, Timsie. I found this online regarding emery paper:

Emery Paper vs Sandpaper is a type of paper that can be used for sanding down hard and rough surfaces. We can supply all grits emery paper or hydro polishing and hand polishing with all grits and sizes and zero papers of 1/0, 2/0, 3/0, and 4/0. This paper, when used on processed products, provides the smooth, perfect and shiny finish to it.

Sounds pretty much like what I suspected. I think I've actually come across this in my grandpa's workshop before he passed a few years ago. He used to turn wooden bowls.
