American Strat neck replacement

Update: I posted this is my question thread about this too but the squeaky wheel gets the grease or something like that.

After letting the neck "settle in" for the week I sat down to do the final truss rod and action adjustments. According to my feeler gauge thingies my relief started at .004 and after half a dozen neck removals, 1.3 counter clockwise turns in total and both sets of my spare "cheap working on guitar" strings I ended up somewhere around .007-.008.

I'm giving up for the night hoping gravity and tension help me out in time but am I missing something here? The fender spec for 7.25 radius boards is .012 but I've turned the rod so much already I don't want to bow the neck. I raised the action in the meanwhile to keep the buzzing down to a minimum on just the low E and it mostly put the first fret in tune as well but it's high enough to make SRV even uncomfortable, I don't have it exactly measured out but it's 2-2.5 full turns off the saddle screws above 5/64s, prolly a little higher.

I capo the first fret, press down on the 15th and measure the 7th and 8th. I can see all six strings clearly drop when I pull the feeler out of slide it under they raise up. No one ever accused me of being smart but I've got to be missing something here right?

Also, if anyone needs a neck swapped out at NASCAR pit crew speeds I think I'm ready 😁
