You really never see mahogany or korina fretboards. I'm guessing it's cause they're too soft, too easy to dent. Your strings would dig grooves in the board

I'd say is if it's not at least as hard as maple, it's not going to work as a fretboard...Since maple seems to be just about the least hardest of most fretboard woods... :dontknow:
