A couple different Tele's

Here is some interesting style Tele's that I have never had the opportunity to do before.  They are not Warmoth bodies but will be getting huge Warmoth Fatback necks.  One is a pine body, which I am very interested in hearing the tonal quality of when it is finished.  The other is an alder cut for TV Jones Pickups, which is also new tone territory for me.  The pine body is being done in a light blue that was made by mixing equal parts of Daphne Blue and White. The Alder is being done in Fiesta Red.  I can't wait to hear them.

They are primed in white lacquer and will be ready for color next week.

:sad1: meh, don't like fiesta red... but I trust you making it look better than Fender does...  :icon_thumright:

Lookin' good!
How is the Tributecaster developing, tonar? Anything worth updating the thread with new pics for?

It's all finished and hanging next to Black Dog's Cherry Bomb just waiting for the final rub out.  No more pictures until the final rub out or you might lose sleep.    :laughing7:

This Fiesta Red looks like tomato soup, people that like that color love it.  I'm actually going to use ReRanch spray bombs for the color since they will not send it to me in quarts.  This should be interesting!

That sounds good!
My guitar teacher has a pine strat. It's a light weight champion! It was swamp ash-ish in the sound, and was very clear!

I look forward to seeing the fiesta red tele finished.
Always liked strats in fiesta red with aged pickguard....
:hello2:

I sprayed color today.  The Fiesta Red was a new experience for me.  I used a Guitar ReRanch spray can and although I would rather have shot it out of my gun I managed to get fairly good results.  I learned to spray about 12 inches from the surface and build real slow. I tried to lay it on pretty heavy on the first coat and got some fish eyes so I lightly sanded it after 1/2 hour and then starting spraying fog coats on every half hour.  This is what it looks like after 4 coats.  Not bad.

The blue looks real nice but I had to get some white color behind it to get it to show up in photos otherwise it looked off white.  The color will really show well with a parchment single ply pickguard.

Sex-ay.  I really like the old-school colors - I particularly like them on non-old-school configured guitars.  I think there's a Fiesta Red Strat in my future (probably in the five-year-plan).
