7 string Tele?

Is it possible?  I'll qualify it.  On this forum, I've seen Warmoth make one of their 7 string bodies in a 6 string version.  I've also seen Warmoth custom make a 7 string SG and Explorer.

The reason I ask, I have a friend that has his heart set on it, but thinks they can't or won't based on their website.  The Rondo/Agile thing isn't an option either.

A few disqualifiers are the Tele headstock because it isn't interchangeable with anything Fender.  A top route probably won't happen either.

I'd say it's definitely possible, just based on the past conversions to 7 string that you mentioned.  I'd guess they'd charge a $45 upcharge to convert the body & another to cut the 7 string paddle to a Tele, but it might be more than that.  The main thing I'd be thinking of would be the bridge - using one of their standard 7 string options would work, but I dunno about any other 7 stringers, like that 7 string Tele on the Rondo.

But it should easily be possible, just need to call & email to sort out what they'd want & how much Warmoth would charge.

He's wanting 2 hums and a hardtail.  I don't know if they do a straight peghead for 7 strings, and the Tele headstock probably isn't their decision to make.

I urged him to call and posted here to remind us that there are off the menu options out there.
