Just curious, why did you decide to go the geckoless inlay route?

I do not like inlays of any kind.  I actually got really lucky and found this one in the showcase at 20% off.  The price was already discounted because it is a 2nd.  The side dots are a little sloppy.  Not so much that you notice, but they are a little sloppy.

Yeah, I remember that neck.  It showed up in the Showcase for a day or two, then it vanished.  I'm happy to see that it has a good home.

I'd like to see that Walnut body when it's ready!

I agree. I've been looking at Geckos for some time now and I'm sure I'll order mine some day but while the Gecko inlay doesn't look half bad, I'd rather have a neck without any. Kind of weird that you have to pay 35,- extra to omit the inlay but that wouldn't stop me.

I'll be sure to post a build thread over at Talkbass when the time comes.  I just got laid off on friday, so finding the money to purchase the bridge, tuners and the electronics is hard.  I want to use a hipshot bridge, Q tuner pickup (one or two, not sure yet) and some hipshot tuning machines.

I am also thinking of using some padauk on the body, but I just love the may that walnut sounds on a bass.
