24 fret bass truss rod rout

I ordered a 24 fret fingerboard for my 5 string P-bass body. First thing I noticed is that the truss rod access rout is completely covered up by the extended fingerboard. It would be great to have the option of extending the access rout by an inch. I had to rout it with a wood rout and didn't get the best looking results. So risky and nerve wracking!
