22 frets neck

yes, if the pickguard is unmodified. the pickguard can have a bit of material removed below the fretboard to make it easier to take off.

cut off the 22nd fret or chop a big hole in the neck end of the pickguard so you can get it off. it's a pain, but i have to remove the neck from my tele deluxe to get the pickguard off. had to do it a couple times, but once i've gotten the wiring where i want it i've had no problems with it.

I've had some with 22 fret overhang I could get the PG off without neck removal.  If this is going to be a recurring thing, get threaded inserts on the neck.

Threaded inserts are the whip. I've got them on a couple guitars now, and intend to do the next one as soon as I can get into the basement again. The neck is held on tighter because you can use finer-threaded screws, so you get a better neck/body connection than a standard bolt-on, and definitely better than a glue-up. Plus, it makes it easy to pull the neck off whenever you want without worrying about tearing up the neck mounting holes. Word is the tone is much better, but I can't speak to that since I've always started with inserts so I don't have an A/B comparison on a given instrument.
