Currently I'm waiting on my parts to arrive should be within the next 2 weeks I ordered a Candy tangerine strat with a white pickguard and all chrome hardware, schaller tuners floyd rose trem, Dimarzio paf pro in the neck and super distortion in the bridge, the neck is a showcase strat neck maple on maple fretted with 6130's. I was going for something that would very 80's bright colors floyd rose and the pickups. Comments questions and suggestions welcome, btw I'll post pics as soon as its here.

Could be a good'un.

I've always fancied a candy tangerine strat

So I'm sitting here thinking about putting this thing together and I'm curious as to how difficult installing a floyd rose trem is, also I've heard alot of different things about the necks, as to if they need leveling, seating, etc.. so my questions are

1. how difficult is it to install a floyd?

2. will the neck need any adjustment

and 3. Ive heard some things about floyds and warmoth compound necks not working out quite perfectly with the radius and what now the neck is a warmoth 24.75 scale conversion 10-16' compound radius anyone know about that?

thanks, - jc

The floyd should be simple straight forward common sense.

I have always ( with one exception) just applied a quarter turn in on the truss rod prior to neck install, and that has always worked for me. Then I fine tune with the season.  (I should try the side adjuster, but I'm not sure which way to turn it, righty tighty?)

the one exception: I had to add 5 turns to a custom neck a buddy ordered, I thought the neck was never gonna straighten, over the course of a week I got it straight, I suspect the wood just hadn't settled enough after they made it or whatever

A floyd is not that difficult to install, as long as you have W install the posts for you.  The W build I made with a Floyd worked just fine with the compound radius neck.  In fact, Jackson guitars frequently use floyds.  My SL2H has one.  It also has a compound radius, 12 - 16".  No issues, whatsoever,

It took me bit to get used the side adjust. The way I can remember it is that I stick the allen wrench in with the long part aimed at the peghead. Then all you have to do is push the allen wrench in the same direction that you want the peghead to travel. i.e. if you want more relief, pull the wrench toward the top of the body. To straighten the neck out (less relief) you push the wrench toward the back of the guitar.

Well I just checked my order status and it shipped today, needless to say I'm quite excited about it UPS says it should arrive by thurs so I'll be posting pix as soon as its together, probably Friday, I'll work on it all night =) and btw I didn't ask warmoth to install the posts but i should just need to use drill bits and gradually work my way up until they screw in correct? (havnt looked into this part yet)
