    Double expanding truss rods

"  pulling back on the neck is like straightening it - that's not relief - you would tighten the truss rod to make it more straight - - relief would be loosening it..." This I know 'G'..... I included the info to illustrate that the action is higher at the high end than the nut end...

    Double expanding truss rods

No offense taken "TFARNY".....but..... The neck had zero relief after building and tuning to pitch. The action was too high...higher at the 22nd fret than the nut. I manually pulled back on the headstock slightly and gently to observe that the action lowered across the neck.. I surmised that a...

    Double expanding truss rods

Can anyone give me a primer on Warmoths double expanding truss rod? How to adjust the secondary screw to lower the peghead end to facilitate lower string action. The action is simply too high on my new build. I have added relief using the main (?) truss rod, but no help.... :icon_scratch...

    Broken tuner screw head....

I took it to a friend that owns a machine shop and he did just that. He put it on a precision drill press, and bored out the old shaft. So precisely was the tolerance that another tuner screw actually fits in the hole with no further fuss... Another lesson on my first build: Drill with the...

    Broken tuner screw head....

While installing my new Schaller Minis, the head broke off the of the first screw. I figure I didn't drill deep enough into the hard maple headstock. Pain in the ass...after waiting 6 weeks for the neck......................the other 5 went in fine...but...here is the problem... How to exract...

    A Few Questions

I have been searching for this "low adhesion" tape ever since it was suggested by the Taylor Guitar techs, 'how to clean a fretboard ( masking off the soundhole)' on their website, but I have never found any such named tape. He used a brown low adhesion masking tape....I have searched Home Depot...

    Staining ebony fretboard

My Warmoth neck is being finished as we speak, but my concern is that the ebony fretboard is somewhat streaked, lighter in some of the upper fret positions. My question is this; can I add some additional dark stain very carefully to the lighter areas of the fretboard to make it unformily...

Hey Cymbaline,                           Are your tuners the Schaller locking minis? I am deciding between the 'Minis',  and the Schaller regular sized locking tuners w/staggered posts.                         Any thoughts/opinions would be helpful... Nice guitar, btw A photo of mine....    ...
