Right. I have recently run into the Fender Performer Bass. After the initial impression I am hooked. The only problem with this is that performers rarely come up for sale and after that fact are amazingly expensive. So does anybody here have the Bass version of the Performer? I would love to...
Sounds like I may just have to end up doing that. If it comes to it I might just buy the entire HMV bridge and take the saddles. Pop the ones I have on a parts bass.
While I thank you deeply for your leg work and input I don't think that the grooves are deep enough on the E to keep the string from sliding back to center. Thank you again but still not quite right.
right so I had a good look around and have found out the the newer Fender MIA basses come with a High Mass Vintage (HMV) bridge. The HMV is fitted with saddles that have multiple grooves per saddle so you can place the string in whichever groove will "cure what ails you". his as posted above is...
I finally got round to having the Pickups installed and all wired up. It sounds amazing already but needs some serious adjusting (i have a topic in the hardware section about one particular problem). I still to have the pickguard screwed on and the string retainer screwed on as well. but it is...
So I am still building the bass started months ago and have got the pickups. So the problem I am having is the E and G string are not centered over the magnets while the A and D are. I saw this before on a friends MIM Jazz. So I am wondering is there any replacement saddles I can get to space...
Oh I know that. But the other Bass has lower frets and I have gotten used to that. It will only take a week or so to adjust. Once I get the pickups in and the strap on and get playing it it will all be good.
EDIT: The pickups arrived today from Bare Knuckle and they are packaged so well and...
So pictures I promised and pictures you will get. I don't know if it is really visible but took a pic of the string heights at nut/fret 1 and fret 21 so you can analyse them. I am getting used to the new heights but the string deflection and the heights of the frets is causing the notes to bend...
Thanks that clears that a bit. I thought it was a bit drastic the change that was need in the neck. So you figure bust the nut, so to speak, and drop the height that way. Sounds good to me. I will look into sorting that. Thanks
So I have been a bit lazy... well yes and no. I have had quite a lot of help from a friend, in fact he did all the work thus far. But his work got the tuners fitted, the neck on and the bridge fitted. So I have strings on and have been messing around with it. Problems have raised their heads in...
