What is the ideal weight for a Stratocaster body (unfinished) to avoid neck dive?

I have a 3lb strat body with a roasted birdseye neck and a gotoh 510 bridge. Absolutely no neck-dive. I find it hard to believe you'll have any issue with a 3.25lb body and maple neck, especially with a floyd bridge. Those things weigh around 400 grams, right?

Rolling edges on finished maple fingerboard?

You're going to crack/ruin the finish. If you don't want to do the finish yourself, why not try out Musikraft?

Has anyone tried the Warmoth's Contoured Hill option?

Not as comfortable as an ultra strat, but I still love it. It also works with basically any fender replacement neck's mounting holes. Keep in mind that the ultra strat neck plate probably wouldn't work with a modern warmoth neck, since you'd probably screw right into the truss rod's side...

Anyone know anything about Sound House in Japan?

Ishibashi, Ikebe, and Shimamura are probably the most popular shops with physical stores in and around Tokyo. Good luck.

Anyone know anything about Sound House in Japan?

Probably one of the biggest and most popular online music stores here. Nothing shady about them, so you should send them an email if you feel they're doing something unethical.

Any tips to get a black korina body under 3.5 lbs?

I seem to be terrible at communicating. I'll probably either search for something light from the showcase OR order a custom body with a lighter core wood, then have them chamber it and put a black korina lam top on it. Thanks for pointing the ambiguity out. The original plan was to go 100%...

Any tips to get a black korina body under 3.5 lbs?

Yeah, I'll probably keep looking at the showcase for now. I could definitely start with a lighter wood like you suggested, then put a black korina lam top on it for looks. Just need to find a wood that matches aesthetically. Thanks.

Any tips to get a black korina body under 3.5 lbs?

The goal is to have it 100% black korina. I just don't want to risk it looking awful, so I'm waiting for a nice black korina lam top. The finish is just going to be clear satin, so under 3.5 after the finish is what I'm looking for. I got a chambered roasted swamp ash body with the off-menu...

Any tips to get a black korina body under 3.5 lbs?

I'm thinking of a black korina body whenever they get more back in unique choice. Anyone ever get one to come under 3.5lbs? Current ideas: 1. Chambered Velocity (maybe the smallest, ordinary-sized chambered body) 2. Hollow Carved Telecaster (maybe hollow would be lighter?) 3. 7/8 Chambered...

    Soloist vs Strat

If it's just shape, then I think the soloist wins for the fret access. But don't forget that you can chamber a strat body which is a huge bonus.

    Pickguard modifying

Trying to mod a pickguard is painfully difficult. I love YOS guitars, so I've looked into this before, but pickguards are hard to cut without the right (expensive) tools. Some people can do it with hand tools, but it never worked out for me. I didn't even attempt to try the control plate. I...

Wonky nut from Warmoth and what to do about it

I have the same thing with the nut on my Meadowhawk neck, too. Can I be the third data point? I'll probably try to file the slots, mess it up, get angry, then buy a new nut.

    Chambered Walnut Telecaster

I was eyeballing this lam top for so long, so it's really cool to see it in the flesh. Beautiful Tele.
