The finished guitar is about 8 lbs, but I didn't order a showcase that was ultra lightweight. I didn't think to weigh the body itself, but I would guess around 4lbs.

Thanks all. I looked through a bunch of photos online and ended up realizing I just like the look of gloss finish best. So basically what you all said. Satin seemed to appear more like a piece of furniture to my eyes, if that makes sense.

I am looking at possible telecaster builds with burl or figured koa lam tops, which I would order with clear finish by Warmoth. What I'm struggling to find is a whole lot of examples that I can look at for gauging gloss vs satin finishes on these woods. I'm leaning towards gloss, does anyone...

The pickguard is Warmoth Vintage Pearl. I'm happy with the colors, the turquoise dye finish is a bit more green than the stock image shown by Warmoth, I adjusted my camera to make sure the picture looks close to like my eyes see it.

Thanks, I ended up placing an order with a Turquoise Dye Quilt over White Korina, went with masked edges and a Transparent Turquoise back. Excited to see it come in a couple or so months.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm leaning heavy that direction. Seems like the dyes are darker at the edges, so thinking masked edge with the darker roasted ash body in transparent turquoise could look good.

Blue burst is still on the radar. I really want the quilt maple top to have a water-like look, so trying to stay with turquoise/blue.

Yeah korina does look a little bit yellow, so that makes sense. Unfortunately, there's no white korina option on the builder to reference. If I go that route then masked edge would help divide the contrast, so maybe with both options masked edge is appropriate. The lighter parts of the black...

Good catch, I did mean roasted ash, just edited that. I have not owned a roasted ash body, just alder. The body I'm looking at is a three piece, chambered roasted ash body, if that makes any difference.

While I was initially drawn in by the trans turquoise finish as shown in the Warmoth rendering, I'm beginning to like the turq dye more and more. I think that with a trans turq back w/ the roasted ash body could work. Now I'm just trying to figure out how a clean line vs burst-over will look at...

That does look nice on the seam. My main concern is that my favorite body I'm looking at is maple top, roasted swamp ash body. Since the body is much darker due to the roasting, I assume that would be very apparent with an all trans turquoise finish. Was the Jazzmaster an alder body with alder...
