@Spud : ain't it nice when you find that perfect profile?
I just found my 3rd. Lol
My new favorite is my Ltd eclipse necks in general, with my ec1000fr as the best of the 3.
here is the shape at the 1st and 12th frets. Its 20/21 to 22/23mm in size.
The other 2 are sanding variations on this...
I love the modded tele look where they add a little offset vibe to it and play with the cutaway and upper bout dimensions and shapes.
D'Avanzo has one, but its his own builds, not just a body. He is also very limited in what he offers. Good stuff though.
Precision guitar kits has one too...
Im having 2nd thoughts on one of these now.
No binding, yet masked edges are available. I really want binding.
4 hole controls too.
A carved top is a frivolity, but I want it.
So, I'm back to the carved top tele, unless the binding and 4 holes are1 doable. I could forego the carved...
I've been working with wood all my life and have never had over tight screws cause any issues on 2 closely and tightly mated surfaces.

Where you'll run into problems is...
Best i can do is a vip with a wraptail and neck angle.
57/66tws fit, but barely. I have 2mm from bottom of string (unfretted) to top of pickup.
They really need a bit more than that, but I deal with it. That height makes for tasty sounding single coils.
The bridge has no issues with...
I keep sniffing around the regal. It would need a funky bridge though. Something you dont normally see.
The 4 knob layout and switch location is appealing to me. The carved top tele is another one.
This is so true. Its also why I dont like actual les pauls.
I guess I just like that...
My '99 tele started out as an alder/spalt showcase body i just HAD to have.
I too was concerned about excessive brightness, so I went with a mahogany neck. The fretboard is ebony for some articulation. I wanted maple, but they wouldn't do it.
It sounds amazing unplugged, just perfectly...
