    From satin to gloss

Pop the tuners off and rub that sucker with just your fingers for a while. Polish it like you did the neck shaft. My first build had a satin neck that took 10 years or so to slick up/not be sticky. I paid like 30 bucks or something like that in '99 tobget the peg had glossed. The back of the...

How did you know about Warmoth?

I learned of them in the wild west days of the internet. I had just gotten a Squier strat, an ibanez soundtank chorus pedal, 2 cords, an ibanez tone blaster practice amp, and a rush songbook for 100 bucks from cousin. Man, I was hooked! Being the nerd I am, I scoured this new and exciting...

    Compund radius ?

Why do i think it was 18.46 or something like that? 18.5" all day. If im building, its getting a compound. I only vary if the bridge isn't adjustable for radius, like the gotoh wraptail. I ordered a straight 14 to match.

Lace Sensor fans and electronics-savy people, I need some input on what Sensor colors to pick.

I got mine with no box, brand new in '18 for 170 bucks. Couldn't go wrong at that price. 400 bucks plus? Ill pass. The bridge pickup is really cool. There were actually 2 versions of these floating around. The early ones were a bit hotter, but there were production issues or...

Lace Sensor fans and electronics-savy people, I need some input on what Sensor colors to pick.

My first experience withvlace sensors was in the late 90s in my strat plus deluxe. I liked the red for gain. It was like a super clear po0/bucker sound, but much lower in volume. The blue was cool. I didnt like the silver, probably because it was in the middle position, which I despise...

    Very serious post.......

@Spud : ain't it nice when you find that perfect profile? I just found my 3rd. Lol My new favorite is my Ltd eclipse necks in general, with my ec1000fr as the best of the 3. here is the shape at the 1st and 12th frets. Its 20/21 to 22/23mm in size. The other 2 are sanding variations on this...

    More 7/8th body styles, please!

I like this idea. How about any headstock on the 7/8 necks too?

Meadowhawk body, neck, and inlays are now officially on the menu!

I love the modded tele look where they add a little offset vibe to it and play with the cutaway and upper bout dimensions and shapes. D'Avanzo has one, but its his own builds, not just a body. He is also very limited in what he offers. Good stuff though. Precision guitar kits has one too...

Meadowhawk body, neck, and inlays are now officially on the menu!

Im having 2nd thoughts on one of these now. No binding, yet masked edges are available. I really want binding. 4 hole controls too. A carved top is a frivolity, but I want it. So, I'm back to the carved top tele, unless the binding and 4 holes are1 doable. I could forego the carved...

    Need help preventing ski jumps

I've been working with wood all my life and have never had over tight screws cause any issues on 2 closely and tightly mated surfaces. In a strat pocket, the only mounting thing that can cause a warp up high is a small non tapered shim. No shim, no problem.

EMG's for Genres of Music Other Than Metal

I have a set of 57/67tws in my VIP build. I was intrigued by the very same aspects of actives that you are. As @TonyFlyingSquirrel said, they do get some good clean sounds, moreso with the tws in single coil mode. My trick is to eq a little bass and low mids, which shifts the eq a bit to...
