10 of my 12 are tiltback headstocks.
Of those, 7 are 3x3, 2 are 6 in line, and 1 is 4x2.
I prefer tiltback for the ample pressure on the nut with no string trees. For the record, they're all hardtails.
A well cut nut renders either side of this argument, moot.
Locking trems do too.
That...
How do these work? I mean, I know you adjust a trim pot and all that. How does it work in function? Is the adjustment more a frequency cutoff adj or a volume thing?
Ive been interested in these.
i like Ibanez's 330 cap, but it similar overall as the prs one. I can always tweak the tone...
I thought the '78 sounded about as loud as the jb.
Goes to show you how much eq and harmonics matter to perceived output.
I thought the '78 sounded much clearer and more aggressive as well.
I was never really a high output kinda guy nor a duncan guy.
Dimarzio's middy thing they seem to...
I'm bidding on this just so I can say I played with Joe walsh's organ!!
Lots of stuff there.
Is Joe moving to a nudist colony or something? Lol.
Was gonna bid on the fringed leather pants, but alas, no waist size........
This is a wood issue.
Otherwise, a simple fix would have solved the problem.
Wood does matter. Not in a maple or alder way, but you have to take into account what it has to offer.
Pickup/wood matching is the order of the day. However, sometimes you end up with an outlier on the bell curve...
I was genuinely surprised about the fatback being a touch thinner front to back than the boat.
Hence the calipers coming out. Lol.
They're still among my best necks. The boat i think is number one all time.
Huh, so 1" thick was really .965 all along?
I feel cheated. Lol
Since the accusations are flying about calipers, i broke mine out, out skool!
Vernier calipers with a micrometer backup!
My 1 11/16" '99 fatback is indeed not an inch thick. Its .963 at the nut and .965 at the 12th.
However...
Did anyone notice the fatback and boatneck specs changed? They're down from 1" to .965".
Not a bad thing IMO.
@aarontunes can we still get the OG size off menu/call in?
I'm a huge lace fan.
Ive had:
Golds
Blue
Silver
Hot Silver
Hot gold
Red
A set of hemibuckers.
A set of holy grails
I ran sets as:
Hemis with the Hot gold in the middle. 5 way, coil splits, bridge on switch. It had 13 sounds.
Red Silver blue in a 90 strat plus deluxe.
Tried golds in another...
I play with a combination of hand positions.
Im not thumb over.
Nor behind.
My thumb usually sits under the a string area, so shoulders are super important to me, as well as some meat for my thumb webbing to cradle.
I first got the fatback in 1 11/16 and 6130s. Love it. I wanted to try the...
