    Wilkinson/Gotoh VSVG

Here's the differrence. This is from the Stewart-Macdonald site. Designed for enhanced sustain and better reliability. The baseplate holes are elongated so the screws won't bind, for smooth, accurate return to pitch. For tuning stability, the string mounting holes are staggered in the...

    Wilkinson/Gotoh VSVG

I have had my Warmoth Strat with the VSVG for over 3 years now. Still no problems with it! The proper way to set up a 6 screw trem is to tighten the two outer screws until they just start to touch the base plate. Then tighten the other 4 screws until they are about 1/8 of an inch from the base...

    Wilkinson/Gotoh VSVG

I've had a few locking trem equipped guitars through the years. A few Ibanez', one of which had the original Edge trem and a Schecter with a licensed Floyd. I know it's not the same as an original Floyd but the concept is the same. I had more problems keeping those in tune than I do with the...

What is your favorite LIVE musical video?

That bassist uses an old one meant for guitar but my bassist uses the bass big muff and it sounds great! We're only a 3 piece, he uses it sometimes when I go into a guitar solo. It really fills up the sound.

What is your favorite LIVE musical video?

That's a cool idea! My drummer plays in a bass/drum band as well but they do doom/stoner metal. It's pretty cool, the bassist used a Fender Jazz bass, big muff and a 3 amp/3 canbinet setup.

What is your favorite LIVE musical video?

I saw Opeth on the Progressive Nation tour with Dream Theater, Between the Buried and Me and Three. Mikael is pretty damn funny. He made a reference to him looking like David Coverdale because his hair was getting really big and said that Opeth was a cock rock band. They randomly went into a...

What is your favorite LIVE musical video?

I'd just like to say that I listen to classic rock and metal. Most metal bands wouldn't even exist if it weren't for classic rock bands like Deep Purple, Zeppelin and Sabbath, to name a few. Those bands weren't always refered to as "classic rock". It's classic because it's over 25 years old...

Thanks!! I know that I'll never go back to a Floyd Rose style trem.

    Ritchie Blackmore's Strat Project

Nice! Blackmore is one of my biggest "strat" influences, along with Robin Trower. I have a Duncan SSL-2 in the neck of my Warmoth. (Pearly Gates HB in bridge). I can get great MK II era Deep Purple tones with the SSL-2.

Switched from high output to low "vintage" output

I'm not sure why a lot of pro players like Vai and Petrucci still use high output pickups. A lot of other heavy metal guitarists still use them too. Most amps these days are capable of extremely high gain. It seems that low ouptput pickups with high gain amps would generate more tonal control. I...

Switched from high output to low "vintage" output

I've had high output Duncan's in my Warmoth Strat for a couple of years. I recently switched to low output ones and couldn't be happier! I originally had an SSL-6 Custom single coil (neck) and TB-5 Custom trembucker (bridge). I replaced them with an SSL-2 (neck) and TB-Pearly Gates (bridge). The...

    Best guitar I've ever played!

I found a forum on Harmony Central where someone said that an M4 allen bolt would work. It won't look the same but I'm assuming it would work.

    Beautifal guitar!

    My custom pedal board

Ha, unfortunately no. The only ones that I use on a regular basis are the Boss tuner, Morley Bad Horsie Wah, MXR Phaser, Digitech Chorus and Delay. Everything is running straight into the amp. I have a Carvin rack effects unit that I run delay/reverb for guitar solos through the fx loop of my...
