Smooth - easy turning 500K pot - solid shaft?

I probably should not "argue", as we all know that stratamania is the definitive source. However, when it comes to EVH, it looks to me that evhgear.com sells only solid shafts. And when I was looking into this in 2023, there were so many comments on various gear web sites (incl. where the pots...

Smooth - easy turning 500K pot - solid shaft?

As @Spud says: Bourne. Just a note on the the EVH and Malmsteen pots (that are both Bourne); the shaft on the EVH is different, so very few knobs fit on that. The Malmsteen shaft is more "standard".

    Freaking JHS!!

Coming from a country where umlauts are actually used, I find those randomly placed umlauts extremely hilarious!

Roasted Swamp Ash and Roasted Maple Baritone Tele

I enjoyed reading about the progress of your build which had it’s ups and downs, but turned out really great! And that neck is absolutely gorgeous!

Thoughts & opinions on my next build

Regarding Coffee, thanks! The pickup is supposed to be as close as possible to the early Eddie Van Halen pickup(s), and when Pete Thorn tested like 30 pickups for that sound, this was his favorite. It works great for everything from early AC/DC and Free to 80´s Whitesnake. It is not high output...

Thoughts & opinions on my next build

@kennslp I was wondering about woods and tone in 2023, when I built my Soloist-based guitar ”Coffee” (swamp ash, maple cap, roasted maple neck, gibson scaled neck, etc). But the truth is that the tonal impact worth to consider happens somewhere else in the signal chain. Pickups have a big...

    Happy 80th Birthday, Ritchie Blackmore

It is interesting to (once again) see how songs evolve when a band plays them live for a while. Long Live Rock’n’Roll from Live in Munich 1977 sounds quite diffrent from the great version that appeared on the album titled the same as that song.

Deep Purple ”Made in Japan” is my all-time favorite album. Just listened to ”Lazy” from the 2014 remastered version.

New Video: Electric Guitar Pickups 101 - or - Aaron's Pickup Primer

I adddition to the P90 (that I also associate with Leslie West), the Filtertrons sounded really good. And for me, too, Malcolm Young is ”the” sound. Great video!

New Video: Electric Guitar Pickups 101 - or - Aaron's Pickup Primer

There’s a huge P90 boom right now (no wonder), and I’m hoping that there will be a good noiseless P90 available at some point. i have been looking at the SD JJN version, but no real reviews yet, I believe?
