    perri ink guitars

I think we all here might be exactly the opposite of Mr. Perri's target demographic. We're all here because WE want to do the grunt work to get our custom guitars. But many players don't have the inclination/time/patience to actually do all the work themselves. His work looks pretty solid, and...

    $ down on first build

Ask that again after he finishes pricing out his build!!

No stupid questions, only stupid people...

When I was a young lad a friend and I glued the neck of his cheap Strat copy in place. he thought it would sound way better. it sounded the same, but can't be adjusted, or removed, but really who cares, we placed it straight, and he'll never swap it out. Anyway long story short, 23 years later...

    teisco guitar question

I have an old Teisco too, They're unique. Quality is spotty, but they're fun and have a different sound. The sad truth on value is most are near worthless. Those that aren't worthless become worthless if the badge on the headstock is gone. The badge can sell for more than the guitar it came...

    Idea, 1, now research

Aside from those relicing threads, it sounds like you might want to look into using 'Milk Paint' Give it a google.

    agile 50's strat project

This isn't quite right. fender didn't introduce the red until '58. After 58 this is true, and they did change the pigments in the '60's. Prior to that it was sort of 2 tone, but not really. The body was dyed yellow. On ash until '56 it was actually a yellow lacquer toner , later it was a...

    thin sound new strat build

I would suggest doing a thorough set up on the guitar. try looking up the standard setting specs on the fender sight, as a starting point. For Super Turbo: if your guitar isn't set up correctly, aside from pick up adjustments, and electronics issues, but including intonation, saddle height...

WARNING : Careful with screws supplied with Gotoh Vintage Style tuners !!!

I agree with a couple of the posters here, the screws aren't the issue. It all comes down to assembling your Warmoth isn't just snapping together lego pieces. The price for having options for which components you use is that YOU have to do some of the work. So you need to actually learn how to...

Why is Warmoth such a secret?

It's not a secret, but most people have no desire to build their own guitar. People who do find this place pretty easily.

    My Hardtail Strat

Not sure if this belongs here, or in the 'Work In Progress' section: So it's a warmoth hardtail strat body. I wanted to finish this in Nitrocellulose products, but as i am in Canada I have no access to anything like reranch or anywhere with an array of premixed colours. So i bought some...

    "special" finish over black?

I used a different Alsa product before. i used their 'jet black basecoat' you can get small sizes, or even rattle cans if you have no spray gear. Alsa products are automotive urethanes, you really want to make sure you use compatible products.

    It's a sad, sad day....

That's a real shame. It had been one of the best looking black finishes i have seen. The beauty of Nitrocellulose is that it shouldn't be too hard to fix. Tonar seems a class guy, his knowledge and advice are spot on. I have every confidence he'll get you sorted out,  you'll learn a bit of a...
