Not at all. They're each at around 20lbs of tension.

I'm loving it, thus far. Considering doing a 25.5" version tuned to standard, myself. I play it like a guitar - primarily power chords and some other intervals when I feel it fits a particular part of a song. I've had no problems with muddiness, so long as the bass on my amp is at about 11:00...

That's what I was going to go with, actually. That or their Helmsman wipe-on protective finish.
